NYFW: Rachel Comey Spring 2018
It was hard to choose just 5 looks, so we didn’t!
For those unfamiliar with Rachel Comey she is an independent american designer based in New York City. She is known for her crafty and bookish aesthetic, which has translated well for New York’s downtown cool and alternative Brooklyn crowd. She has a strong following in creative types, whom look for pieces that easily mix in with a great vintage find or other independent designer looks. The feeling the spring 2018 collection was right on brand, and clear vision of how Comey sees the world. Served in three parts alongside a three course meal at Flora Bar at the Met Breuer, was a dinner party show, many were delighted to attend. Below find our favorite looks from each “course” of Rachel Comey’s Spring ’18 dinner show!
Appetizing Weekend Looks
These are the looks we could see ourselves or our clients in all yea round! We love the ease and versatility of each piece, and the styling of the full looks. That full Canadian Tuxedo Look with the tulle shirt is something we could also see as an after hours look!
Make it a Powerful Main Daytime Looks
The tailored simplicity paired with voluminous details in these looks spoke to our want for powerful statements in neutral colors. We especially loved the wide leg tweed trouser paired with a basket bag and white blouse. It’s an office outfit with the balance of spring/summer ease.
Sweet After Hour Looks
These evening looks make us want to fast forward to spring time drinks on an NYC rooftop, or indulge in a downtown gallery opening. Don’t forget to keep the party going well into the after party, with fringe and tulle screaming YASSS!
